I am shocked. I always wondered what happened to Sunny Johnson. My husband bought this for me for Mother's Day because it's one of my all time favorites and I decided to come here and look up some stuff.

I can't believe she passed away.

Poor Sunny Johnson left us due to a brain aneurysm in June of 1983. RIP, Sunny.

She died in 1984 not in 1983.

Her charcter skated to "Gloria" performed by Laura Branigan, who would die from the same thing 20 years later.

What a strange and sad coincidence. I did not know of either death, until reading here.
