Is this the film I've been searching for?

A few days ago I saw a few clips of a film being played on a dvd player in the car next to mine, and I was wondering if it was this one. I only saw a few seconds of it, but it's been stuck in my mind ever since.

The first thing I saw was a huge humanoid fire creature. It seemed to be made up of black, red and yellowish-orange flames, and I think it had either pure black or pure white eyes (I can't remember for definite, though). It also had what seemed to be the outline of long hair (if you've seen Rock & Rule, the hair shape, and body shape of the creature in general, were very similar to Mok's in the "My Name Is Mok" sequence. The sequence is here if it's of any help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDsEInf0H4A (it does contain flashing images, just to warn you ahead of time)).

The next clip I saw was of a man apparently move in front of something, as if to block it. He was wearing a Viking-esque helmet with horns that formed spirals at the end, and he had a grey/white beard. I think that part was set inside a building with stone walls.

The last part I saw was of the fire creature again, this time in a snowy area. It held its hand up and shot a column of fire from its hand into the sky, where it spread out into a disc shape.

Can anyone please tell if this was from Fire and Ice, and if not, does anyone have any idea where it might be from? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

sorry man, these things you describe (although very cool-sounding) are not in Fire & Ice...

Oh well, I might try out this film anyway. Thanks for telling me though, at least I can narrow down the list of possible films. :) (And great username btw!)

this sounds quite similar Ralph Baskhi's other work Lord of the Rings - the animated version made in the late 70s - the beast you describe sounds like the balroc sequence.

Maybe Bakshi's Lord of the Rings!

No, not that...

It sounds like the animated LOTR's movie. Check it out and let me know if that was it.
