Was Darkwolf the father of Nekron?

Larn askes Darkwolf, "You mean you're fighting Nekron?" Darkwolf replies, "Him and his mother. That wolf-bitch Juliana." Does that imply that Juliana used Darkwolf just to get pregnant with Nekron? Nekron certainly seems to have a scrawny-looking body, nothing like Darkwolf's muscular frame, but then Nekron was trained to be a sorceror and a mentalist, not a warrior. However, Darkwolf seemed able to resist Nekron's powers better than anyone else did, with Nekron saying, "Die. Die! Why won't you die?!"

Some of my friends commented that they never saw anyone spit (Larn spat) in a cartoon before. So I showed them Akira, Violence Jack and Vampire Hunter D, more stuff they'd never seen!

It's so nice to see, after all these years, that I'm not the only person who's ever speculated about this! I don't know if Darkwolf really was Nekron's father, but I've always strongly suspected (for the same reasons you do) this to be the case. I do hope so - at least then, the ending might make some sense!

YES I also tought that he is the father of nekron.

When Larn is entering the stone city (with the octopus) he sees a stone sculpture of Darkwools Head. I always tought that Darkwolf was the King of the City and Juliana his wife, but she only used darkwolf, to have a son from him. And when Nekron was born she destroyd the city, and went north to ice peak.

But darkwolf is still alive, and wants revange.

Thats my theory.

Yes, He IS Nekron's father. Watch "Painting with fire". There's an interview with Sean Hannon in which he talks about a deleated scene in which it's revealed.

*dances around* Ah HA! See, yall? I just KNEW it! Thanks for clarifying that.

Damn, why do they do all this DELETING? I mean, that was something pretty important to the plot. I hate how they just decide we don't need to know that, and leave us hanging for 20 years or more. Makes you wonder what ELSE they cut out. I wonder if the DVD will contain any of these deleted scenes?

Mmm... an interview with Sean Hannon. I must see this! He has a great voice, but personally, I picture Nekron as sounding more like Alan Rickman. And yes, I have done a LOT of thinking about this, since I've been obsessed with Nekron for many years.

Sean Hannon did say that Darkwolf was Nekron's father, but Bakshi & the filmmakers decided to drop this (it was never filmed, mind you - only written in the earliest drafts of the script), and make it open to speculation in the film. And we have to thank them for doing that or else this discussion wouldn't have taken place. :)

There's also a scene, just before he kills Nekron, there's a look of sadness on Darkwolf's face before he swings his axe

There´s a lot of time that I watched this movie... but in some part of the movie you can see the face of darkwolf in a statue, with AQUILONIA written below... am I right?

If this correct, it could possibly be a bizarre link to CONAN? Then darkwolf could be CONAN himself, or one of his descendents...

Well this is an old idea floating on my mind... problably I´m completly wrong.

But is nice to find other fans discussing this movie...

Saw the DVD again and browsed to that scene. Sorry to say this dude but I couldn't make "head or tails" of the writing below DARK WOLF's statue. I don't think it says "AQUILONIA".

Wow....I NEVER thought that Darkwolf was the father of Nekron...I just assumed that Nekron's Mother had a reputation, and thats why he mentioned her by name.Interesting stuff, great movie.

I think Dark Wolf is the father of both Nekron and Larn, making Nekron and Larn brothers!

That's my theory.

I do wish they had kept that in about Darkwolf being Nekron's father, as it shows what his character's motivation is for fighting Nekron & Juliana, and why, in the end, he alone was able to defeat Nekron.

Totally, I've just realize now that it all makes sense . His indurance to nekron's power. Loved the way father gave his son a beating.

PS : Lol, Necron is a race in warhammer 40 k with whom I've conquered the known universe.
