The Dead Zone really made me think about...
...the way many of us view our relationships. Johnny and Sarah interact in a way that makes you think they're what people like to call "Soulmates" (one of the more aggravating lies we tell ourselves and each other), but Johnny is still alive when Sarah moves on to her "next phase" in life while Johnny stays suspended in time.
Truth is we are nothing more than individual entities more or less trying to get through life without feeling we are all alone. Companionship is a fleeting thing, and today's best friend or lover is one twist of fate away from being tomorrow's stranger, and our connections to each other are fragile, fleeting and gossamer.
