shareI know this is an old post, but oh well. I have long though Karen Allen and Brooke Adams bear a slight resemblance to each other. When I read books, I tend to envision actors as the characters, and when I read The Dead Zone, I actually envisioned Karen Allen as Sarah. At the time, I hadn't seen the movie and had no idea who was in it aside from Christopher Walken and Martin Sheen (neither of whom I envisioned as the book's characters). It was quite a surprise to see Brooke Adams show up in the role since she closely resembled by vision of the character.

In the late 70s and early 80s, Brooke Adams, Karen Allen, Jessica Harper, Margot Kidder, and Genevieve Bujold were all interchangeable to casting agents.
