Not a fan of reboots or remakes in general (there are exceptions), but there was a significant diversion from the book to the original film that perhaps the reboot can exploit.

As much as I like the original, I always felt it could have been more gory, more tense and scary.

It would be good to see a much harder version of the story.

I've never been a gore fan, but tense and scary is good stuff.

reply

I never saw Christine as a scary story, but more like a drama and twisted love story.

What a waste of time and talent. The film was great. A most it will be another "Carrie". Thanks but no thanks.

No thanks.

Seeing as Halloween Ends was practically a reimagining of Christine, this seems even more redundant now!

A Christine remake has been in talks for probably two decades now. I remember reading an article about how a new Christine was in the works back in 2007-2008ish. Around that same time, remakes of The Thing, Escape From New York, and They Live were also being discussed. I guess Carpenter is one of those guys who makes very remakable movies?

The fun had just begun!
