pretty scary and some good characters. the fathers in the first two were to mean

Honestly? Mine too. The first movie was barely competent, the second one was better made but incredibly tasteless, and this one is just a relatively harmless haunted house movie with a lot of goofy 3D stuff. I found it a lot easier to take than the preceding two.
