I'm just watching the bonus material from "The Winds of War" and publicist James Butler obviously wrote a journal on the production. Does anybody know if it ever has been published? I checked amazon.com, but no luck.
So far I was only able to read about the Making of WOW in Ali MacGraw's autobiography and in a bio on Robert Mitchum.
My oldest friend sent me the link to your question; I was (and am) surprised and delighted. The network printed five hundred copies of the book (called "A Personal Journal")and distributed them to the nation's TV editors. (Doubleday considered publishing it as a paperback original to accompany the new edition of the book, but there wasn't time to do that before the miniseries aired.)
It's nice to know that someone is still interested, so I dug around in my own files and found a copy. If you send me a mailing address, it's yours.
