watching for the first time. its pretty good. Hitler is not portrayed as a lunatic for once. he is portrayed as the political genius and intelligent man he was.
even the american's are shown to be not all powerful.
unbelievably epic this in all honesty is probably the greatest thing ever shown on tv.
It and 'War and Remembrance' (which do see, when you are finished with WOW) are sort of the end of an era, the big-budget mini-series would become the genre not of network tv but of cable tv like HBO and Showtime.
I've been a big fan of both WOW and WAR ever since they originally aired, and have re-watched them many times of the years.
Many people don't like Ali McGraw in this, but the Ali McGraw-Jan Michael Vincent relationship is my favorite all-time screen romance.
Great cast, great writing, great acting, great theme music, a great story. Dan Curtis did a tremendous job.
i really miss the network tv miniseries. i guess this or 'War and Remembrance' is the last big one. i am going to watch North and South soon to
Ali McGraw is great in this. a few critics say she's bad so everyone believes it. critics have never acted or taken an acting lesson so i laugh when they comment on acting
loved this miniseries..casting was an issue..pug way too old..roy schieder or james caan would have been closer to proper age while maintaining the gravitas..ali youthful enough to pull this off, although 5 years later it WAS necessary to re-cast I miss the big miniseries
