Is this the mini series I remember . . .

When I was 9 (in 1983) there was a science-fiction mini series [my first exposure to Sci-Fi] and even though it was odd and violent to my 9-year-old perceptions, I have always remembered it and have wondered for years what series it was. This sounds like it, but you'll have to help me know if it is, if you would?

Aliens came but the looked like humans (except for a reptilian tongue, if I remember correctly). There was a 'queen' type person. There was a young woman in a clinical looking place and she had twins. The first looked like a human and the second looked like a reptile, but it died. The human-looking girl grew up super fast and had powerful abilities, but I don't remember what.

Do these details sound like 'V'? If so, what were they up to and why did they have the young woman have hybrid babies?

That was V The Final Battle the second miniseries. But it is part ofthe V story...so...yes./

the woman had hybrid babies because she had sex with one of the visitors who are a reptilian race. but the girl did not know that at the time

Yes, that is V. The young woman having twins was a teen named Robin Maxwell, who got pregnant by one of the aliens that she was in love with as a result of the "queen" Diana wanting to try a medical experiment.
