Will V be released on Blu Ray?

Is there any news on a V blu ray release?

So it's treason then!

Nothing I've heard, but both miniseries were filmed and not videotaped so the films could be scanned at relevant resolution, cleaned, and voila...

Preferably at the original aspect ratio - I recall reading the 1983 miniseries was framed for 16:9 (in Europe!), but leaving extraneous material at the top and bottom of the screen to fit standard American NTSC 4:3 sets, so one could scan the film at the highest resolution and crop after that... or keep it at 4:3, but the original was made for both aspect ratios in mind, which was real forward-thinking... I'd have to compare the original 4:3 with the DVD 16:9 to know for sure, though...

TFB (1984) was shot with 4:3 in mind, however, and matting it results in partly chopped off heads and other problems. To re-edit every single scene by hand to optimize it for a 16:9 reframe would be atrociously expensive, and it was framed with 4:3 in mind so that's how it really should stay...

The DVDs look good overall, but there are so few extras, not even the cool TV promos... the miniseries' both got a raw deal for home video release... Blu-Ray releases with extras would have me running out there to buy for sure...
