dominique dunne

does anybody know where you can get the footage of dominique dunne ,i think she filmed the whole movie before she was murdered?

reply

not entirely sure what you mean. the only footage on the dvd of dominique is of her (& a group of other people) staring up at the mothership. this is quite early on in the series.

reply

as per the "trivia" section on this site, she died only days into filming, with only a couple shots of her in character from behind used in the series as a nod to her involvment

reply

If she had filmed the whole miniseries, we would've seen her in the role of Robin. She was murdered just after filming started and only did a few scenes.

reply

Actually this was the common perception, however in an interview included with the French DVD V, Johnson explaiins quite a bit if filming had been donew ith Domique, including acording to him some expensive and complicated SFX sequences. The footage has never been seen as far as I know.

Maybe Warners may include it as an extra in a future reissue of the V DVD if the Dunne family gave their consent.

Yeah..David Packer probably not big on talking about that one....since he stayed inside and listened to her being beaten to death outside.

reply

^ Yeah, it was true "method acting" on Packer's part during that situation.

He plays a gutless, cowardly, pussy on the mini-series and - in real life - locks the doors and hides inside her apartment as shes being beaten and strangled to death outside by (from photos) is some fat-ass tub of lard.

I'm not saying anybody should have expected him to rush outside all Bruce Lee and took the guy out. But you could have at least called the cops or made an effort to go after him with a weapon or something. Instead he just ran and hid as a woman was beaten to death.

The casting directors sure knew what they were doing... Spot on casting.

agreed- his character was a perfect fit.

And why should he not be expected to go outside? Grab a damn baseball bat, a shower rod, a blasted high heel shoe for all I care....anything is better than sniveling in the corner over the fear of risking ones own neck to help another human being.

Actually, David Packer did call 9-1-1 for help, but he refused to go outside to help Dominique out of fear of her boyfriend.

A dispatcher is heard on the 9-1-1 tape, pleading for David Packer to go help Dominique.
The dispatcher even yells, "if you're any kind of man, you'll go help her . . ." but, he refused out of fear.

Dispatchers today would advocate the opposite; staying in since stepping into an altercation would have numerous legal repercussions.

I wasn't there, I've not heard the alleged tape, so I'm going to stand by his remaining indoors.

After all, "any kind of man" may or may not have had the strength to fend off the monster that probably should have stayed away after they broke up. Only real men stay away from the women that break up relationships. Maybe the 911 dispatcher didn't know that...
