She also appeared in Fast Times at Ridgemont High as the Pat Benetar girl. But sadly, she wouldn't have gotten this role of Robin had Dominique Dunne not been murdered.

Her stupidity in regards to the son (forget his name, the one who was the Visitor wanna-be) and especially her retarded decision to leave the safe-house and get captured got a LOT of people killed. I always hated her character. Cute girl but I kept praying the character would die a horrible death.
Plus she was a total whore and banged an alien sans-condom on a Mothership because she "didn't want to die without screwing ANYTHING." Even a member of an alien race who has made perfectly clear by murder/imprisonment/harvesting/torture, etc. that they wan nothing more than to kill your entire species including you.
I mean, I can understand the white teenage girl wanting to destroy her race and everything her forefathers have built thing... hell, that explains most white teenager girls I've met. But this is taking it to another level.

To the character Robin, she acted no differently than any number of human women. Unintended pregnancies are still quite the problem today, and we even give out rewards for such behavior - including guest spots on TV shows and other things... seems quite the incentive for potential mothers... not all thanks to double standards, of course...
No, she didn't get a lot of people killed. Actually her FATHER got a lot of people killed by giving up secrets to the Visitors in order to save after she got caught. He sold out the human race for his family. Robin was just a typical Valley-Girl high school kid caught up in unfathomable circumstances. I don't even think the girl had a drivers license yet. That's part of the appeal of her entire character - that all this crazy sh** is going on around her but she's still a teenager with raging hormones and a crush and she doesn't really "get" what all the adults are doing or talking about when it comes to the aliens.
As for having sex with the young alien Visitor (and getting impregnated).. she was being held captive, scared and easily manipulated. You can plainly see she is a mess of emotions when Diana orders Bryan to go in and do the deed. And the plot device touched on a lot of interesting concepts of the times - teen sex and teen pregnancy (and later, abortion).
(and I'm not even getting into the importance of her "testing" the Red Dust on Bryan which basically sets the stage for humanity to make the planet undesirable to humans)
She's a brilliantly written character which is integral to the advancement of the entire plot.
Most annoying character bar none in the entire series...
I had a crush on her when I first saw her in V. She's a really cool actress.
