Great Miniseries With Great Intence Performances..

This Miniseries, Considering It Was Released Back In 1982 Is Very Good. Brad Davis , Best Remembered From Playing Billy Hayes In "Midnight Express." And Has The Same Intensity And Captivating Performance.

Keith Carridine As "Foxy" Was A Lovely Villain As A Serial Killer Over 3 Generations.

Has To Be Considered A Landmark In The Future Of Television.

Great Narration By Charlton Heston In His Languid Way Also Plays Out Well Over The Generations.

People really think Brad Davis was good here? His overacting was painful...

The character is psychotic. Davis plays it correct, stays psychotic...there is nary a moment when he is otherwise. & without him it's pedestrian fare.

I saw it at release on broadcast television & again on a VHS tape that I cannot locate. I'm re-watching it this afternoon on YouTube. The transfer is not the best, but, serviceable.

Andy Griffith was supposed to get the Heston role, but, took ill & passed it on. Heston is pompous, near insufferable here. His voice over grates.

This is memorable. I've never forgotten it.

I agree, Davis was a terrible actor, he almost ruined Chiefs for me, his overacting was dreadful. I cheered when Foxy killed him so I wouldn't have to suffer his painful acting any longer. His "acting" style is about as subtle as a brick.
