Need help finding a movie

The only thing I remember is a teenage boy in some sort of lab (or something with all kind of electronics) and he falls into some form of tubing and gets electrocuted which causes some form of data transfer into him. I remember him saying some sort of winning horses from a horse race, but not much else. Its been a long time since I have seen this movie (probably mid 80s) on Up All Night on USA (I think) and I thought it was Zapped until lately.

Any help at all would be great.

It sort of sounds like "The Computer wore Tennis shoes" [1969, Kurt Russell] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Computer_Wore_Tennis_Shoes, but I don't think that ever played on USA Up all night. There was a re-make in the mid 90's starring Kirk Cameron as well.

There was a sequel to "Zapped!" called [appropriately enough] "Zapped again!" but I haven't seen it in quite a few years. I don't think it's the one, as it involves a telekinesis potion ala the original.
