Funny nostalgia

man this movie brings back memories from my childhood. It came out when I was ten, so obviously I really was all into the whole telekinisis thing and the girls. Anyways, there's one scene that is just laugh out loud funny.

At the amusement park, 2 guys are hitting on Jane and Bernadette, and Baio says... you talking to me? you must be talkin to me, cos i'm the only one here, quoting deNiro Taxi Driver obviously, and Willie Aimes says, Where am I Barney?

So funny

I was 10 years old as well when this movie came out back in 1982. I remember staying up late in the middle of the night on a school night and watching this. My father comes in and says "What are you doing up?" I tell him I could not sleep and continue to watch ZAPPED. It was great to watch and I loved it!

I was 11 or 12 and used to watch this over and over back in the day. I watched it last night with my wife for the first time in about 15 years. It's funny, every line, moan, noise that is made in the movie is familiar. I do admit, some of the scene are completely stupid and embarrasing to watch now.

The scene at the ned when they have the prom (Carrie) scene, there were some girls in full frontal nudity, I don't remember that scene from the 80's cable days.

Also, this movie spoofed several 70's movies:

Carrie
The Exorcist
Taxi Driver

....I'm trying to think of what other ones were spoofed.

When I think of 80's teen comedies sometimes I will think of this movie. I think my mom actually rented this, which is shocking to me, and we watched it and she would tell me to close my eyes at nudity. It seems like they made women's bras pop off over 10 times, so now I'm wondering if I remember it right. I seem to remember a beach scene with maybe a beauty contest? Is that in the movie?

I may have seen this on cable though. If it was rented it would have had to have been mid to late 80's, because I was born in 80. I can't think of why it would have been easily accesible to rent years down the line unless they re-released it to cash in on Charles In Charge? There was also a time when an older girl at church would stay over with my mom and we would rent movies, so maybe she had a crush on Baio and got my mom to rent it and she didn't see the cover? I wonder if it's worth tracking down just to try to settle this memory mentally.
