Can someone clarify it? During the prom, Barney gets conked w/ a hose & loses his telekineses. So, what did he gain instead? Flight?
shareNo, he didn't lose his telekinesis, he just pretended in front of Peyton so he wouldn't keep hassling him. (The clue is he never lost his power when Jane hit him on the head with the watermelon earlier, proves he can take a blow and have it not affect his powers).
You can see Barney make his handkerchief rise up before he flies away with Bernadette. He could always fly if he wished to do so.
Anyone else think that the whole prom scene was like an adolescent quasi-porn version of "Carrie"? Holy *beep* Marty commits literally dozens of counts of sexual assault using telekinesis!
I have the same problems with this as I had with "Chronicle": the absolute power of the telekinesis corrupts the mind of the wielder. Now, in "Chronicle," it was overt and obvious, and it leaves the viewers terrified of the prospect of some flawed human being walking among us, totally superior to us in power, and literally able to rend us limb from limb with but a thought. In "Zapped!", there is a camouflage veil of "comedy" over the insidiousness of this teenager having this awesome power. It's hard to imagine being a friend of such a person without living in constant terror ? and yes, envy.
I have to admit that I am so uncomfortable with the idea of anyone having such a power while the rest of us don't that I would want him killed. Such power does not belong in the hands ? that is, the mind ? of a human being.
