'Zapped! sweeps Oscars' -The Onion: Our Dumb Century
When I first flipped through The Onion: Our Dumb Century, I saw this headline and a picture of Scott Baio holding up two oscars, and I almost died laughing. I have never seen this movie, I assume it is pretty lame (correct me if I am wrong), but the very thought of a movie so ridiculous as this sweeping some of Film's most "prestigious" awards is hilarious. But, at the same time, it might even be a cutting statement by the writers of how silly the oscars have become ("and the award goes to...Titanic"--<shudder>). Just thinking about this headline still makes me laugh every so often--THE TITLE HAS A FREAKING EXCLAMATION POINT! Is this where the Academy Awards are headed? Giving the award for best picture to a movie that ends with an exclamation point?

PS- I, of course, mean no offense toward the hard-working producers and makers of the film version of the musical Oliver!, which won Best Picture at the 1969 ceremony.
