Today, without question, the T.S. stands for terribly sad.

This one really stings.

He was Mork from Ork. He was Peter Pan. He was Teddy Roosevelt. He was Genie. He was the King of the Moon.

"Sound your barbaric yawp!"

"So this is Hell. And there's a crucifix in it!"

"Follow the Ho Chi Minh trail!"

But first and foremost to me, he was Garp.

R.I.P. T.S. Garp. This time the T.S. really does stand for terribly sad.

HARUMPH!

I’ll always associate him first and foremost with this role too.

I liked him in lots of movies but funnily enough for me too - this his best role. He just IS Garp, and brought him completely and utterly to life in the movie. RIP Garp.

I was young but I remember Robin Williams starring in this, and even then, it was obvious to everyone who watched him that even though he was just setting out on his film career, he was the epitome of "can't miss". I don't profess to be his biggest fan or to have liked everything he ever did. He could be grating. But he was a once in a lifetime talent and seemed to have a big heart, and the thought that he came to the conclusion there was no way out but suicide (a choice ONLY he could make) is heartbreaking. Thinking back to when he was young when all his triumphs were still ahead makes it doubly so.
