Why he was not allowed to go to his mother´s funeral?

Why the feminist didn’t had any respect for Garp in assisting his mother´s funeral?
I know they hated men and Garp, but when there is a death on your family, specially your mother, there should have been some sort of truce and allow him to assist.
He had to dress as a woman to assist he funeral.
I also don´t find a logic of why the feminists cutting their tongue as a protest of the girl which was raped and had her tongue cut by the rapists.

You're talking about people who ascribe morality based on chromosomes and genitalia (vagina + XX chromosomes= good but eternally victimized; penis + XY chromosomes= evil, violent rapists who ALL oppress ALL women and who ALL benefit from "male privilege"). Logic has nothing to do with it.

It wasn't his mother's funeral. It was a private memorial service that took place AFTER the funeral.

Memorial service, funeral- what the hell difference does it make? He was excluded from attending because he had the "wrong" genitalia and chromosomes. If that isn't sexism and bigotry, I'd like to know what is.

That was ONE main thing I hated about that movie. A group of (fill in the blank) morons are gonna tell me I can't see my mother because I'm a man? Double middle finger on all of them. F-- that! My mother had ME, not those jackarses.

I wish some dumbass, male or female, say I can't pay my respects to my mother b/c I'm male. There would be TWO funerals that day. Smdh...

I love the way this movie satirizes DO gooders and activists. It's funny how they don't realize that some of them are so nuts that they become part of the problem.

That was a very disgusting part of this movie, that Garp had to dress like a woman to sneak into his own mother's memorial service. Even though it was fiction, you could almost see something like that happening in real life, especially these days, with the kooks having taken over.

Mainly the Ellen Jamesians were women who had probably been mistreated for being women at some point and felt solidarity in doing something extreme. Ellen James' rape and amputation was their rallying point, but they didn't really care about her.

Garp's work already made him an enemy of the Ellen Jamesians. Beyond the radical feminism where all men are evil because they are men, Garp was someone who was seen as using his own mother's good work for profit.
