Although, at first, I rolled my eyes at this B movie, I can’t deny that its subtext is too daring. A white German shepherd is used as a metaphor for racism.

Samuel Fuller held the mirror to society but he was misunderstood and mistaken for a “racist”. No wonder he had to move to France..

I think he had the guts to portray racism as simple as it gets. A White (dog) is trained to hate black people. I highly doubt that racism can be filmed simpler than that.

I was surprised that a horrific B movie could be so brave. Fuller doesn’t show racism in a defensive manner. Rather, he shows it as a social illness so serious and deadly that we must all seek help.
