Forget Tootsie but sadly at the time that one trick pony stole this gem's thunder for some unfathomable reason and so this suffered being over-looked for the big awards.

Still, since when has the Oscar for best film gone to the best film of the year? Not often.

I kind of agree. I actually feel asleep during Tootsie; to be fair, I was exhausted that day/evening. However, I've always been a fan of this movie and Preston's acting.
