I saw this movie after watching the Tron Legacy

Wow what a boring piece of crap this was...even if it came out in the 80s.

One of my favorites. Too bad you don't know how to appreciate.

Sometimes fear is the appropriate response.-1 from 9

Not that boring. A cult hit that spawned a sequel 3 decades later, whose computer graphics has been acclaimed by moviemakers for years.

Its that man again!!

I too watched this after Legacy, and i thought it was still great! Really made me better appreciate the whole story. You have to watch from the beggining and really see how Flynn was brought into their world.

Tron: Legacy was amazing, no doubt about it. But it also feeds you everything you need like most modern movies. The original Tron requires that you actually pay attention to follow the somewhat hazier story line.

But yeah, it's not the easiest movie for modern audiences to appreciate.

Stop calling people "trolls" for poorly expressing an opinion that you don't agree with. God DAMN people fcking do that so much... it's sickening! You can't interpret intent through typed text - therefore, there's no possible way for you to know if this was written TO piss people off, or if the OP even truly feels this way.

Also, trite and overused meme is trite and overused.

Actually, if you pay attention to the patterns of troll behavior, you can spot a troll fairly easily. This thread started with no question, no elaborate point, just a single line with a relatively negative feel. The bait for the hook, so to speak.

The very first thing you do when you see a negative comment that offends you is to strike back at the person who commented... So you take a bite, so to speak.

The troll pulls on the line, and you're now a fish on his/her line, feeding him/her exactly what he/she wants: attention.

Also, the only time trolls comment is to further negativity. Otherwise, especially if a lot of conflict happens in the discussions he or she has spawned, they are relatively quiet, sitting back and watching the words unfold.

So, I have to agree. This person seems to be a troll.

Of course if a comment DOES bother you, you could just ignore it...

But who am I kidding?

Legacy was forgettable blah. Not bad, but take the "Tron" name away, and no one would ever remember it.

Tron, while a bit shallow after 30 years, was ground-breaking. It is (rightly or wrongly) remembered fondly 30 years later. I suspect that in another 30 years, Tron will still be remembered as a classic while Legacy will be a footnote in cinematic history much like Caddyshack II (OK, maybe not THAT bad).

I actually chose to see Tron before Legacy n it was better that way. I preferred Legacy only because I'm a sucker for newer graphics. However, I appreciate Tron and would have never watched Legacy if there was no Tron. While these r not exactly my types of movies (I would never have watched them and only did because I'm going through movies with cult status), it was a GREAT decision on my part. The Tron graphics were still awesome and I didn't feel the movie was too old to enjoy as opposed to the 1st star wars trilogy.

The OP could have been a little less harsh. That said, I was a kid when Tron came out, and I was not impressed. I just could not understand what people were excited about; maybe it was because I was more impressed with the graphics on my Commodore 64? It took getting excited for Tron Legacy to get me to appreciate the idea of the original film; i.e., I appreciated Tron because it was the first movie to a sequel that came out 30 years later. I also respect the die hard fans that are able to appreciate it in ways that I can't.

I can see someone young and bedazzled by current technology thinking the original was "boring". Then again, if you are that young, I really won't take what you have to say very seriously, since your opinion doesn't count for much yet.

"Did you just say that the opinions of young people d--"--YEP. Yep, I did.
