I like Charles Durning but I found his parts tedious, even then.

Tootsie holds up pretty well but I always remembered I didn't find the Durning storyline that entertaining. I just saw it again and I found myself wanting to fast forward through it. The best parts are the interplay between Pollack and Hoffman, Bill Murray's character and Dabney Coleman. I can take or leave Lange but certainly her part was needed. Garr was great.

I sure hope I fast forward past your opinion should I ever encounter it again.

My dad and I love this movie, and have watched it countless times, but I have to confess, we find the scenes when Dorothy stays at Durning's house to be kind of slow, at least compared to the rest of the movie. We've been guilty of fast-forwarding through some of that scene. ...But the other parts with Durning are good.
