So are Michael and Julie actually going to date?

The following contains spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the entire film....

It seems that when Michael and Julie start talking like friends at the end of the movie, Pollack seems to suggest that they are eventually going to have a romantic relationship. But one thing that seriously struck me as weird is the fact that any woman would ever completely forgive Michael for putting the whole world on as Dorothy. While I'm not judging Michael at all in this case (I actually think everything in the movie is entirely plausible, given the job climate for actors in New York City), what's not plausible to me is the fact that Julie would ever forgive him enough to actually pursue anything romantic with him.

What is everyone else's opinions on this?

Meh, I think it's possible she could forgive him. Why not? She's better off forgiving him and dating a person that she has a real connection to, rather than cheat them both of a romantic relationship by holding a grudge.

The irony is that she was kind of already wishing that Dorothy was a man, and the wish actually came true (even though she got upset by it).

The last freeze frame of the film before the credits role has Jessica Lange putting her arm around Dustin Hoffman in a way that suggests they will be romantically linked. It's a very sweet gesture and subtle way for the filmmakers to showcase how their relationship will pan out.
