Only a 7.4???

Why is the rating so low?

reply

that's what I am confused about too. are you 30 or older like me? I get the feeling that most of the people who rate movies on here are idiotic, stupid, and ignorant people who wouldn't know an all-time classic if it slapped them in the face. this film is a classic and is endearing and enduring and it holds up better than any film made in the early '80s. I finally watched it last night and I was really emotionally affected by it. it's on of the rare 4 star comedy gems.

reply

I'm younger than 30. I liked it a lot.

awesome, spread the word to all the people who are your age.

reply

exactly, and shaun of the dead is at 8.0???!!! OKAY!

reply

When I first saw the score I was a bit surprised as well, but when I really thought about it I believe that it is a fitting score. It is far from low, but it isn't outrageous either. While the film was very good, it wasn't excellent.

reply

yes it was excellent. it's as good of a film as it possibly could be. sure there are degrees of films in the perfect 4 star out of 4 star rating system. and do it can be a 4 star film and it deserves a 4 star rating, it's a 4 star film. it is not a fitting score. a fitting score would be 9.2. what would be outrageous? and it is outrageously low.

reply

I think 7.4 is fairly generous. it is not that funny really.

reply

louiseculmer; You say "I think 7.4 is fairly generous. it is not that funny really." That's only as far as you're concerned. It's evident from the relatively high score more people think it's funny than don't. Don't forget, comedy is subjective. What everyone else finds funny, you may not and vice versa.

reply

well, clearly not everyone thinks it is funny, hence the 'low score' that the Op is complaining about. I think myself it's very lucky to get 7.4.

reply

louiseculmer; Thank you for validating my point.
