What holidays were they celebrating?

Julie invites Dorothy up to her father's place for the holidays but the weather looks like it is spring or early fall. Assuming the holidays are Christmas and New year's it would have been much colder, especially in upstate New York. Or at least the trees would have been bare. Anyone else notice this?

Maybe Good Friday/Easter? Easter can go as far out as mid-April, so that could possibly be it.

Yeah, I wondered that too! It definitely seemed like spring or early summer...Memorial Day weekend? But "the holidays" implies Christmas usually
