Bullmer, who killed John Saxon's character?

I'm a little confused who killed Bullmer, John Saxon's character? I'm sure the first killer had been killed by this time and Peter Neal had flown out of town by this time? I feel i followed the rest of the film, but this incident confused me....perhaps i missed something?

It was Neal who killed him. He killed Berti (the murderer at the beginning), and then took on the guise of the serial killer to murder Bullmer who was having an affair with his fiance.

But Bullmer wasn't having an affair with Neal's fiancee, but with his ex-wife! The inspector was the one who mentioned Bullmer's affair with Neal's fiancee, but it simply doesn't make sense. Neal is completely estranged from his ex-wife, and doesn't seem to want anything to do with her. Typical Argento - after a while you simply give up trying to understand the plot...

And Gianni, what was his deal? Such a dumb young man. I have followed Borromeo's career and it is comical how dumb he is in all his roles.
