Help Me Please

I need help in identifying a movie, which i can't really remember. I do remember however one scene - a monster (good, hero, humanoid yet grey and somewhat.. swampy) is locked in some dungeon, he is missing one arm. There is a ray of light through a barred window which he is desperatly trying to reach. When he does his arm grows back. I remember there were some other, evil monsters and ofcours a pretty girl. It somehow reminds me of the Dark Crystal. It looked a bit the same only.. darker:) I'd appreciete if anyone could help me find this movie from my childhood. Is it perhaps The Swap Thing? Thanks in advance.

Harry Manfredini only has one style...but I still like it ha. Yeah, that's what people always say when they hear the score. Sean Cunningham (who directed the first Friday the 13th) and Wes Craven are old friends, having made The Last House on the Left together, and each shooting a scene a piece of each other's slasher movies (I don't know what scene in Friday the 13th Wes did, only that he did it, but Sean directed the scee in Nightmare on Elm Street where Nancy falls asleep to catch Freddy and has asked Johnny Depp to wake her up).

I always found it funny that those two friends made a horror movie each that ended up becoming huge ongoing series that were constantly compared with each other and eventually teamed up.
