The music in combination with the ending was so overwhelmingly sad, I've felt really depressed for the first time in my life. And I must have been 3 or 4 years old when I first saw the Snowman. I guess it was the first time, I fully understood the concept of death.
Well said. The movie always made me feel sad when I was a child and it still does. The Walking in the Air song and when the Snowman melted, I just wanted a happy ending where there was a little glimmer of hope that he would be alive each year. The end song was sad too.
The happiest scenes were when they had the little dance amongst other snowman and father christmas. Those scenes were my favourite.
