use of cocaine?

I'm not sure I have the right movie, but I thought there was a cocaine scene in this one. I now have the Shoot the Moon dvd, and the scene isn't in it. I thought for sure I remembered that Peter Weller had moved in with Faith Dunlap, and, through his influence, she began using drugs. Perhaps I'm remembering that scene from a different movie. Besides, I think the scene included the discovery of the drug use by a young son. Obviously, there are no young sons in Shoot the Moon. If anyone can think of what movie I'm remembering, I'd be obliged. I just wonder if this scene was originally in Shoot the Moon (with Sherry discovering her Mom using cocaine), and later removed for todays audience. Anyone have a clue?

Yes, you are thinking about First Born, another movie with Peter Weller and Teri Garr. (Good movie, BTW).

Dude means nice guy. Dude means a regular sort of person.

Ah! Thanks!

There is a scene where she is taking a bath and lights up a joint.

I sure thought that looked like a doobie, brother (or sister), but she didn't seem to be inhaling much.

Watching the scene now - defiantly doin' a doobie.

The black rotary telephone (when she gets outta the tub to answer) is a bakelite
black rotary phone. I wonder how many 'kids' watching this movie even know what the hell that object was ? I was thinking about her singin' the old Beatles tune while in the tub... then I did the math...the song was close to 20 years old when she sang it ... this movie though is now almost 30 years old .... man, do I feel OLD !!!!!!!!!!!!

**My kids hearing this tune now would be like kids from the 50's listening to music from the turn of the century (1890's). Wow.....

The black rotary telephone

We still use our original green rotary phone (circa 1982). It is the only phone in the house that has never broken. A thirty-something friend of mine also uses a rotary in his house. (We also have a touch-tone of course.)
