The Great Owl

I loved this movie as a child and still love it today. Actually, I watched it the other day and thought of something. Does it explain how the Great Owl knows Johnathan? Or is that something that would be explained in the book?

If I recall the book right (its been years) Mrs. Frisby (her name in the book) Never did go see the Grate Owl (Can anyone correct me?)
In the film if you look closly at the owl and at Nicademus they seem to have the same mustach and glowing eyes. I beleave this shows that Nicademus ither became the grate owl or took over the grate owl to stear her to go see the Rats. In the commentary this is hinted at but never confirmed.
Dont you just love the Owl's voice (John Carridine) "STEP INSIDE MY HOUSE!" It always give me goosebumps.

Speaking of the owl: I love it when Mrs. Brisby tells Mr. Agus (sp?) that she wants to go see the owl. He says, "The OWL? You want to see the OOOOWL?" Cracks me up every time I don't know why! Something about the way he draws out the word owl and the goofy way his eyes get big when he says it. Love this movie, it's one of my childhood favorites :D

Actually in the book she does go and see the Great Owl and the Owl never actually knew Jonathon but had only heard about him from the rats. The reason that the rats went to the great Owl was because they feared that their life was become to easy and that they would lose their intelligence and stop evolving. They went to the Great Owl to find out what tney should do and where they should move. To anyone who hasn't read the book it is way more interesting than the movie.
