Anyone else scared by this movie?

for some reason, i have the reaccuring image of that rat with the glowing eyes in my head, this seams to be one of the darkest, scariest animated films i've ever seen, unbelievable

Parts of this film used to scare me as a little kid. I just watched it again for the first time in years and it was a different experience. I was amazed at how short it was. It seemed much longer when I was 5 or 6. I can see how it would be a little frightening to youngsters.

The animation is still beautiful.

When the rats were being experimented on, that really scared me when I was little.

Was there a scene in this movie when they are sinking in lava or something? That scared the *beep* out of me as a kid.

I'm 27, and I still get kinda scared thinking about this movie.....Now, it may not be that I would STILL find the movie as scary as when I was a little kid, but I can still remember feeling so scared *and a bit freaked out!) by this movie. Maybe i'm just channeling the emotions of my 7 year old self, but I definitely concur with this movie being a bit much for a kid, but it definitely left its imprint on me!!

Not sinking in lava - the cement block house falls in the mud and sinks, and because of the expressionistic red light, the scene looks even more hellish. It's a horrible scene - the children are in the house desperately trying to stay afloat, choking, presumably close to suffocation.

The scene that scared me the most was when Mrs. Brisby was looking for great owl and was being stocked by the spider, that scared the hell out of me, it was incredible realistic and I think that was what bothered me the most.

The scene with Brutus the guard used to scare the hell outta me. The worst part is that before it happens Mrs. Brisby is walking around in this beautiful and colorful place, but you know that it's just a cover for the terror about to come.

Brutus the Guard scene creeped me out but the Great Owl scene was absolutely terrifying for me as a kid. I had quite a few nightmares from it.
