I haven't read the book in 12 years so my memory is a bit fuzzy. But I am pretty sure Nicodimus does not die.

I haven't read the book in years but Justin dies and there are was a young girl rat who had a crush on him. Also there was no amulet and I don't think Jenner was as vicious as he was in the film. I can't remember the rest. But I thought it was awful to have Justin die. I think NIMH set a fire to the rosebush and Justin died trying to rescue some young rats.
