What happened to them? Aunt just gets hit on the head and collapses, and the little kid is just forgotten. During the house sunk, other kids say they must save him, but he's nowhere. And even in the ending scenes they aren't shown.
I accept aunt vanishing, she was never a likable character. But Brisby takes half the movie trying to save her youngest, and then it's just implied he got better and survived everything and that's it?

At the end of the film, the wrap-up scene definitely involves Timmy (the sick kid) asking when he can go outside, again.
I think Auntie Shrew is there, too. It's a bucolic ending, with their home settled in the Lea of the Stone, and all the rodents are enjoying a fine sunny day, except for Timmy, who is still confined to his bedroom, but he still feels well enough to ask when he can join everybody under the open sky.
