Films that disturbed you as a child.

Im not talking things that scared you, I mean movies that generally really shook you up. For me this is the definitive list;
Animal farm. It wasnt the evil pigs or the death, for me it was the revolutionary song that the animals sing. Couldnt get it out of my head for weeks as a 10 year old.
Watership Down. Mainly Bigwig getting strangled and the rabbits suffocating in the warren. Oh, and the tearing out of bunny necks.
Lady and the Tramp. For sure the rats glowing red eyes, which was stupid because I've kept rats and gerbils as pets most of my life. Kudos to anyone who spotted the referance in the Rattatouille film. Also, the scotty dog howling at the end. Weird, but that did really freak me out.
The Mad Scientist. This was a Micky mouse cartoon that I only ever saw snippets of, but by christ it freaked me out.
And of course, Felidae. The scene with the piles of cat corpses. Dead cats on puppet strings. Yikes. And in general the scenes in the labratory.
Animal experimentation in general really shook me up as a child, particularly the glimpses in The Secret of Nymh and its sequel.
Plague Dogs. Generally a depressing movie. I watched as an adult out of curiosity, even though I knew it would probably freak me out. I though, hey I can take it. Im all grown up now. I was very wrong. Couldnt get this out of my head for weeks.

I'm a child of the 80's and these scared me as a kid.

Magic (1978): Who remembers this creepy horror thriller with anthony hopkins and an evil ventriloquist dummy? I saw this on video at age 5 in 1986 with my family and it scared the bejesus out of me, first movie i saw when i got to St. Louis and lived in a holiday inn hotel suite for a month since my dad was working for Mcdonald Douglas at the time and we put our VCR in the hotel room to watch movies.

Making Contact (a.k.a. Joey): Anyone remembers this one? very creepy 1985 German horror fantasy thriller about a telekinetic/psychic boy who battles a demonic ventriloquist dummy. Scared the crap out of me in 1987 when i saw this on HBO and made me creeped out about dummies, the same with Magic as i had a fear of them fear years until i was 12 in 1993 and i fought my fear of them.

Return to Oz: Saw this on video when i was 5 in 1986 and rented it from one of St. Louis's major video stores and it scared me out of my wits.

Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night: Remember this freaky 1987 animated fantasy epic from Filmation with James Earl Jones? it's the one Pinocchio movie where he has a new adventure including ending up in a hellish nightmarish world where he battles a demonic being that wants his soul. It scared the hell out of me when i saw this on the big screen in 1987 after christmas at one of the mall's theaters and it has this still horrific scene where an evil puppeteer turns and slowly tortures back into a puppet.

secret of nimh is definitely the top movie that really shook me a kid. i still can't watch it. i don't know why, but the giant rat with glowing eyes absolutely terrifies me.

-nothing invokes speculation more than the sight of a woman enjoying herself-little women-

The Dark Crystal
The Witches
Plague Dogs - I only watched this as an adult but I still found the movie seriously disturbing. I had the Aussie version which is uncut and rated M for mature audiences. Weird but not inappropriate given the tone and intensity.

Child's Play- I was 11 years old when I watched this on SciFi, and Chucky gave me nightmares for about 2 weeks.

Jumanji- I thought the idea of a cursed board game coming to life was absolutely terrifying.

The Brave Little Toaster- Scared the crap out of me when I was little, but now I love it. :)

Matilda- Ms. Trunchbull, anyone?

Snow White (the Disney version)

Pinocchio (also the Disney version)

"I got in one little fight and my mom got scared"- Will Smith (The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air)

The only movie that truly disturbed me as a child was Return To Oz. I was so freaked out by the talking heads scene that I could barely even look at the VHS tape sitting on my shelf for years.

Snow White And The Seven Dwarves: The part where she's running through the woods and there are all those eyes.
Fantasia: Night On Bald Mountain.
Sleeping Beauty: Everything about Maleficient. What's weird is that her dragon form didn't creep me out but her normal
form did.
Ferngully: Hexxus, just Hexxus.
Watership Down: Holly's flashback.
All Dogs Go To Heaven: Charlie's nightmare.
The Secret Of NIMH: The testing flashback.
The Dark Crystal: The Emperor's death scene (you think he's dead and suddenly he flips out when the
Chamberlain tries to steal the sceptre).
