What if Clubber had refused to fight Rocky in a re-match?
I've been wondering about this lately. Clubber could've easily denied Rocky the opportunity to fight him again. As far as Clubber was concerned he'd fought Rocky and had beaten him. Clubber was then World Heavy Weight Champion so why agree to a re-match? Did I miss something. I doubt that the money aspect of it was important for a guy like Clubber, he wanted the title more.
Thoughts?
No reason not to fight Rocky again. He destroyed him the first time around. ROcky, pushing his mid 30s, was past his prime.
There was no reason to think Rocky would be better in the second fight than he was in the first.
And yes, the money. Although probably not the main motivation for CLubber - it was an ancillary benefit.
In CLubber's mind - an easy payday for an easy fight.

Clubber was the type who believed he was the best and he wanted to take on the best. He wasn't the type to get the title, then avoid contenders so he can coast with the belt.
He beat Rocky soundly once, he would relish the chance to do it again to eliminate all doubt. He pitied the fool.
Lol, yeah Clubber really 'busted him up' in that first fight. Probably thought he could do it again but Rock had the Eye of the Tiger second time around.
