Canada versus USA

When I first saw this movie I knew it was based in Canada but just rewatching it (perhaps for the 100th time) and realizing that they made it out to be a States movie (i.e. the president profile shown in principal office, along with other notations).

Did anyone (perhaps those from other countries/USA) initially knew that this was a Canadian made movie? Ironically realized some of my fav tv shows that were made in Canada were tweaked for the US audience ~ only one I could think of is that of Degrassi. From it's 80s version ~ there was several eps that showcased the kids with Canadian money but remade for USA showing them holding american bills. Even now with the new version of Degrassi they are having the characters visit USA from LA to wanting to attend Schools there.

I've known it was a Canadian film almost as long as I've been a fan. The cast, crew, and filming locations are mostly American, so it tends to fly over one's radar. I think Astral, a Canadian company paid the bills, or at least helped pay for PORKY'S REVENGE.

Other Canadian films some might not realize include BLACK CHRISTMAS (1974), PROM NIGHT, TERROR TRAIN, THE CHANGELING, MEATBALLS, etc.

Almost forgot about Meatballs but do recall knowing about that one ... not even sure how or why since It had equal amount of American actors in it.
