Someone told me in the Bob Clark commentary, there's a much guy nudity in 1 as there is girl nudity.
Not sure why there was so much in 2. People find it funny?

Maybe, because they wanted to be fair when it came to who's naked more often? Men are rarely given full frontal in movies...an ass here and there...but women are always baring it all on screen...plus it's just soo damn funny watching twenty penises bouncing around while they run for their lives into the woods!
It's funny you say that. I heard about these movies as being films guys love, but every time I saw a Porky's film on TV for a few minutes I saw naked guys and turned it off. I think if you're a guy and ordering guys to get naked in a movie you're directing, something's... up with you.

shareActually, if you see the videotapes they do show everything on the guys, but with the DVDs they changed the framing so you mainly just show them from the waist up. I agree with whoever said it was more fair that way, after all, if all these women can stand doing full frontal...what's good for the goose and all that you know.

shareThey did come close at times with the money shots but they kept it so much at a minimum that you really couldn't see it unless you froze the picture, which you couldn't do in those days. Maybe being a Canadian film they could get away with that?

These are not by any means all of the examples of penises on screen from that period, but they are representative--from underground to popular, fleeting or even accidental to close-up and important, both American and foreign. Some are for humor; some are for dramatic impact; some are just matter of fact. In the Porky's films, it's for humor.
You forgot to mention that at least 4 of those films had X ratings! And "The World According to Garp" it was just a baby boy and "All the Right Moves" u blinked u missed it:)
Not one of them holds either an X or an NC-17 from the MPAA. Three are unrated. I'm fairly sure that Desperate Living and Taxi zum Klo would have been rated X had they been submitted. I'm not sure what Barnens ö would get, but my bet is that it would be an R by the standards of thirty years ago.
On the other hand, Can't Stop the Music and Testament were rated PG.
Regardless of the rating, they got made. They got released. They "got away with it" as the original post put it, and I for one am not particularly surprised. I was in my early twenties when Porky's was released, and I don't remember the male nudity creating any stir at all.
Yeah, nobody commented much on the nudity which is kind of strange. I was in my early 20s also when it came out. I vaguely remember not being shocked by the nudity at all. It was (kind of) innocuous.

Boobs and penis aren't equal. Vagina would be equal to a penis. When do you ever see a vagina in the movies? and I don't mean pubes. Men show their bare chests in just about every movie that has ever been made.
