Chairs stacked on top of the table...
Did anyone else think this was one of the creepiest parts of the film???

shareYes that and the clown scene. The chair stack scene is pretty impressive how it was all done in one shot with the crew replacing them. I can't imagine trying to do that!
Plus, the music that accompanied that scene was pretty creepy too!!
shareTotally agree! The Film Score for Poltergeist by Jerry Goldsmith is one of the best film scores in a horror movie ever, in my opinion.
shareVery true. Especially when Mr. Teague told Steven that they built Cuesta Verde over the cemetery then it showed the neighborhood down below. The music was brilliant.
shareYes. I love that scene/music. Also, love the music in the scene where everything is starting to go crazy, & she’s running down the long hallway. Honestly the music score from when she’s locked out of her room (creepy lion ghost thing) until she falls in the swimming pool is just amazing.
shareI bet that scene was loud to film! I'd love to watch and hear the original rough footage, if they even bothered to grab the audio in the first place.
shareI would have bolted out of that house at that very minute. I am mystified at the stupidity of the parents in this story.
shareI agree with you. I would have ran out of that house so fast and check into a hotel for the night.
shareYes, if the mother had grabbed her kid and bolted out of the house at that minute, then Carol Anne would never have been taken in the first place!
shareThat's a really good point, I completely agree with you. Instead, she wanted to investigate the house which caused all the trouble in the first place....
shareThe scene with the chairs was very creepy to me as a kid. If I let myself think too much about it, the idea creeps me out still.
The tree thing was also another scary scene.
Isn't there another ghost movie where a woman finds all the kitchen drawers and cupboards are suddenly open? Or is it this film?
