No, I havent heard that. But it is wrong. Ron Howard is the Saxaphone player. Kevin Costner is an extra in the party scene at the morgue. He is on screen for all of a couple of seconds, and he has no lines. You have to look quickly for him. He is one of the sorrority brothers and he has a jacket tied around his waist.

I always thought that it would have been funny if Ron Howard looked back from kissing his wife, had seen Henry Winkler's character Chuck looking at them, and then give him a Fonzie-like Aaaayyyyyy, as if to say to Chuck, "Hey buddy, leave us alone".
