'bare asses'

I liked the native tribesmen. They were as inscrutable as they were hardworking. I wonder how they were paid and how many were actually actors?

reply

None were actors; they were all lured away from the lumber companies to work on this film. Herzog paid $3.50/day. Normally, cutting down trees, they'd get about 75 cents! Plus they got fed.

Last film watched:
Fanny and Alexander by Ingmar Bergman - 10/10

I liked that some of them had smiles on their faces at unusual, mismatching times in the movie.

And why were they called that ?

reply

^^^ Because the wild Indians used to leave their behinds bare...

I liked the native tribesmen too. Even though they are physically small, no doubt they are fierce and deadly. It was kind of distracting to see some in 70s hair cuts, though.

No two persons ever watch the same movie.
