Watching this movie over and over.....

Someone help me! I adore this movie. Ever since I saw it at age 14 back in the 80's! Now they are playing it over and over on cable and I make sure I catch almost every viewing! Do I need help? Anyone else with my malaise?

Is everything tickedy-boo?

Oh ... I understand both of you. I simply can't get enough of it and its soundtrack: the marvellous and awesome Cole Porter's music.
"Evil under the sun" and "Gosford Park" - both starring Maggie Smith in leading roules - are my favourite ones, actually.

It's weird to see a movie over and over as I tend to just loathe the idea of seeing a movie the second time around. Not this movie.

I have seen this movie 1000 times plus and I never never ever get sick of it. I get something new out of it each time. The sassy dialogue, the Cole Porter soundtrack, the snappy period clothes, the dramatic and exotic scenery. The movie is a masterpiece.

same here - I am 38 by now, first time I must have been around 15, 16 years old

I never get bored with it - like MikeGrossman34 said, every time I get something new out of it. Especially the jokes are amazing.

I like the opening credit as well: the combination of the music together with the paintings. There is a lot to discover here as well. Every paiting has something to do with the character/actor, it's name it displays.

what is it, that makes a movie touch just a very people so deeply, and gets practically ignored by the large majority?

interesting...

I watch it a lot too! I love Ustinov as Poirot - for me he is the best but then I'm such a fan of his.

Love the "make-over" like ending and also Daphne has hilarious lines all throughout but then there is the best line in the movie (which I'm doing from memory so don't kill me over any mistakes):

Poirot: "The Arlena Stewarts of this world do not count. To *really* count, a woman must have either goodness or brains."

Christine Redfern: "You can't actually believe men want either of those things?"

Poirot: "Oh yes madam, I do."
