Odell Gardener's 'alibi'
What was Odell trying to do by being "proud of the fact" that he was unobserved in the garden? What idea did he have up his sleeve?

shareI think he was enjoying very much challenging Poirot by distinguishing himself from the others who were frantically trying to provide an alibi to make their innocence clear. It was like "I'm giving you carte blanche Poirot. I'm not so worried to look innocent (since I really am) like others suspects seem to be".
On the contrary, his wife Myra seemed to be less than enjoyed by the situation.

Exactly ... Odell was cocky because he was, in fact, innocent.
Myra was worried because she may not have known, for a fact, whether Odell was innocent, and because she's likely seen him dig himself into holes before with his big mouth and bigger ego.
