This movie is really smart and quick witted with outstanding performances from everybody, if your a lover of movies this is a definate must see.
shareI really enjoyed this film also. I remember seeing it in a theater and only a dozen or so people were in the theater when I saw it, but I really enjoyed the twists and turns the story made. You needed a scorecard to keep up with them.
shareI`m another big fan of this movie. I have it on DVD. I first saw it on a cable movie channel about a year after it came out, and it just blew me away. Dyan Cannon was so funny, and Cain and Reeve were great to watch! Very clever. I never get tired of it, and I really enjoy watching it with people who have never seen it. It`s fun to get their reactions to the twists and turns of this story!
sharewow, i bought this on DVD on a hunch that it was good b/c of people's reviews of Reeve, whom i thought was so wonderful in this. I do agree w/ another poster on this board that Reeve out-acts Caine to a certain degree... b/c he has like 3 persona's - 1 to Dyan Cannon's char. & everyone else (the nice sweet innocent helpful young fella), 1 to Sydney as a lover, and finally 3 - the sociopath who is quite scary when he yells and has the audacity to kill!
quite good when you consider i did NOT see that psychic chick stealing the play, when it transitioned onto 'the stage' i thought ok so one of the two fella's survived and produced it, probably Cliff... NO?? OMG! WTF is this! lol
blood effects were cheesy and i did think i saw blood squirt FROM the chain itself when Cliff was 'strangled' to death... but over all, it was really good. i think they could have used more cutaway reactions during scenes, and not such looong shots that were most wideshots and medium-long shots.....
wow - just... wow. maybe i'm not the best to judge b/c i don't watch that many 'whodunnit' and 'mystery' sort of movies with twists, but i thought it was well thought out. i mean i truely thought "ok Sydney will get the sum of what his wife had, Cliff will find out by rooting thru HIS drawer, and then some how get him to sign the money to him in case of him dying (which the lawyer wanted him to begin thinking about, the will that is), and then KILL sydney for the $ but it didn't turn out that way at all!
:sigh: i dunno but it was good....
and yeah that kiss was shocking at first, i stopped the film for a second and was like "oh i .... didn't see THAT one coming...... hm...'kay....hmm"

The blood was supposed to be squirting from the chain itself because it was a prop. Christopher Reeve's character even mentions a "chain squirting with blood" in a scene near the end.

Reply: i know that :) and actually when i saw it happening i thought the blood looked kinda fake but i dismissed it thought they just had bad FX lol.... but then it turned out to all be fake, so.... i didn't know it was going to 'turn' that way lol
