I've already pre-ordered my copy. It's available for twenty bucks directly from the Warner Bros online shop.

(EDIT: hold up, they're doing 'Archive Collection' BLU-RAY discs now???)

Wait a minute... who am I here?
Yes the blu ray is region free. And it looks awesome. Especially compared to the dvd.
shareI just ordered it from Warner Brothers (free shipping). My old DVD was in 4:3 aspect ratio so I will be delighted to have the 1.77 aspect ratio in high definition.
Monsters from the Id
I watched the Blu-ray two nights ago and am pleased to report that the picture quality is incredible. You would never guess that the film is 30 years old. It's a shame that WB didn't load up the disc with extras (there's only a trailer and no commentary track, etc), but I'm thrilled just to have a great widescreen version of the movie on home video at last.
shareWith their MOD titles, they don't put extras. Just be happy you got the film at all.
shareSidney Lumet, Christopher Reeve, and Ira Levin are all deceased, Michael Caine doesn't do commentaries, and the only remaining familiar actor is Dyan Cannon, who doesn't do much of anything these days. This movie doesn't really require a big to do on Blu-Ray especially with the twisty nature of the plot. It does look great on Blu though. I purchased mine at a V-Stock near me. Very satisfied.
shareMichael Caine doesn't do commentaries? Then who is it speaking in Michael Caine's voice on the commentary track for Sleuth (2007)?
shareI just bought it for $10 on the Vudu streaming service last week. The transfer looks fantastic, and I suspect they use the same one as the Blu-ray.
shareYes, it is a pity, isn't it? Especially since the director is Sidney Lumet -- he does very informative and entertaining commentaries.
But I'm very happy the transfer on the Blu-ray is so good.
You might very well think that. I couldn't possibly comment.
