Batty's speech

His speech at the end was so beautiful, spoken by a man knowing he was about to die. Letting the dove fly off was special.

Great speech and perfect for the mood of the film

There is a cool Wiki page that explains that Hauer touched up the scripted lines the night before the shooting of the scene
Its an interesting read

The fdavo was 80s styling at its best. Pure Scott! Thats why it was so important that he became director. Cause he was a visual director coming directly from TV ads production. The downside of Scott was that he was as inexprienced as a novel movie director as possible. Thats why the studio overruled many of his point- and clueless directoing decisions. And that why we get that masterpiece. Cause the studio once (it doenst happen often :) ) knew way better then the director what an amazing novole they had for this movie. And on the other side with the visual master Scott the world of Blade Runner would have never been as amazing as it was with him as director.

About 50% of the greatness of the film is in that once scene.

I agree. I wrote it down so that I could look at it whenever I need inspiration.

Can't argue with that point. Batty's last words summarize the underlying theme of the movie. It's actually a heartbreaking, beautiful moment.

Blade Runner would not be the same without this speech - it gives the film much of its soul. One of the great film moments.

And the music too. The new movie doesn't have the magical score.

The music is mesmerizing.
