How did Annie not fall?

I don't see how Annie was able to hold onto that bridge for dear life without losing her grip and letting go.

Was she staring on a thin small platform while holding on? Or was she literally hanging on for dear life?

No she wasn't standing on anything else and at one point the camera zooms out so you can see that.
