Nailed windows

Any idea why the windows were nailed shut.? I remember that George nailed a window shut towards the end of the original AMityville Horror, but since part II was a prequel, it couldn't have been george who nailed them shut.

So the family couldn't escape.

Thanks for responding. I actually meant at the beginning when they moved in

The windows were nailed shut at the beginning of the first Amityville movie when the new family is moving in. Since Amityville II is the story of what happened before that, the nailed windows were from when Sunny did it before he shot everybody. I always figured he did it while they were out, like when they kept leaving him there alone to go to church.

Ah, it's on Netflix. Yeah, she does find the windows nailed shut when they first get there. So I'm lost.

It was billed as a prequel, as it's based on the DeFeo family, who were all shot by the oldest son before the Lutz family moved in (original Amityville). I always thought people were just nitpicking about 80s items used in the film, and that the characters all running around during the shooting instead of just mysteriously staying asleep face down (beginning of original Amityville) was just because they wanted more action and drama going on to watch.

So it's supposedly intended as a prequel. But now I'm totally lost on the windows thing. Maybe they wanted to set up an extended past of previous horrible occurrences still to tell about?

And then later the sister asks Sunny, "what happened, all the windows were open". And even later, it's all stormy with curtains billowing from all the open windows, and just then Sunny jumps up to go murdering, and the sister is running around unable to open nailed shut windows. I guess nailing windows shut is just one of the house's special talents.

I can understand the windows being nailed during the murders but not when they first moved in. Even George was nailing them shut towards the end of part 1 after Kathy saw the newspaper headline about the murders.
