Anyone else like it better than the first one?

I found this one a lot more entertaining, honestly.

I liked the original better, the second one was too gory & in many scenes the family was so horrid I was almost rooting for the bad guy!
But the second one had more in-your-face chills, that Walkman scene still creeps me.

Rating from best to worst:
Amityville Horror- Scary
Amityville II-Good but an Exorcist ripoff
Amityville 3-d -decent, not scary, but a hell of alot better than the preceding movies that went str8 to video

Since when did Amityville 1 or 2 go straight to video?

I like the first film slightly better. This film is awesome too, though. I don't see why it seems to get so much negative criticism.

I've been waiting for you, Ben.

I loved the first one and so i decided to check this one out. I've seen alot of mixed to negative reviews but went on to watch anyways. I'm glad I did because I think it was great and probably like it more than first. Will be checking out part 3 soon.

Part 3 is so-so. It has some great cinematography but the script left a lot to be desired, ultimately.

I think this is way better than the first one, the second half of the movie needed work but there were still some good scenes (the priest visiting the house after the murders to see Trish as a ghost was chilling, and the scene with Sonny in jail right before that was well done.)

The first half is classic though, I love everything about it. So dark and gritty.

Didn't you think it ended rather abruptly?
